a photo essay

On a balmy summer morning,

my son requests to wear a cape.
He learned of the existence of capes from Super Grover, of course.

This particular cape is made from the firetruck pillow case my mom sewed him. He CANNOT get in bed without it these days.

Oh, wait... did I mention the cowboy boots?

Yes, the boots! Aren't they awesome? Garage sale: $1. Yay!

So adventuring we went. Up the hill.
Then down to the lake to check out what the ducks were doing.

... they weren't around.

Then over to the play gym.

It is hard to climb up the ladder while wearing boots, and Elijah got frustrated.

But I helped him up and all was well again.

And then we visited Lucky.

When my son gets an idea in his head about something fun to do, he won't drop it. For example if we're playing cars and he remembers he wanted to play outside in the rocks he'll chant to me "play outside in rocks!" over and over until we go (or until I tell him to stop).

So we were playing on the slide and he remembered he wanted to play on his horse. So this is what he chanted at the top of his lungs for all the world to hear.

"Get Lucky Momma! Get Lucky Momma! Get Lucky Momma!"

I thought it was funny.

And then there's this professional one. Cute, but how do you capture all his personality in just one shot? It's hard to do.

That's exactly why my hard drive photo folder says this...

Contains 21,304 files, 275 folders.
