A day through Elijah's eyes.

ON SATURDAY EVENING as Elijah and I were settling down for the night, rocking in his room and talking about the fun we had, I asked him to tell me his favorite parts of the day. This is what he said (in his own words)...

Ga-ma's house.
His first thought in the morning usually has something to do with going to Grandma's house.

Lawn-Mow-ah.
Daddy mowed the grass. So did the neighbor. This turned out to be hours of entertainment.

Play house.
I moved his play house/ jungle gym into our side yard where it's nice and flat for him to play. In the process of moving it, I had to take it apart and clean it. He helped. He found the entire process super duper fun!

Gam-pa.

After his nap, Manny and I brought Elijah to an antique car show on Franklin St. He got to hang out with my parents, which is his most favorite activity in the world.

Race Car.

There was a winged sprint car in the car show parked right out in front of the office. A highlight, for sure.

Fire truck.

Though you can't tell in the above photo, Elijah really liked the old-fashioned fire truck they had on display there.

Aunt Rae-Ree.
My sister Ragon was there too. She took him for a little walk to see the clowns and to get...

Lay-dee-buuuug.
... a balloon in the shape of a lady bug! Which was awesome up until the part where he tried to chew and swallow the balloon and Daddy had to take it away. A major melt-down ensued.

Pizza.
After quite enough fun at the car show, we headed to Turoni's as a family, just the three of us, and had some yummy pizza. He pulled out all his best flirtation moves for the waitress. He was charming, to be sure.

Daddy.
Daddy and Elijah had a really good day spending time together. They don't do things like that often, but when they do, it's special for both of them.

Ice Cream.
After dinner, Daddy took us all for an ice cream cone. They are cheap and nostalgic at the Big Top.
Slide.
We enjoyed our ice cream at a park across the street while the little guy ran back and forth across the bridge and scared the life out of us on the slides. He was good and dirty by the time we loaded back into the car.

Bath.
Another high point of the day for Elijah. There were sharks, cups, ducks, fish, and plenty of bubbles. And when it was over, there was a ring of dirt on the side of the tub. Evidence of a good day, if you ask me.
