a little peek into our day

I weighed Elijah on the "big person" bathroom scale this morning and he is 24 pounds on the dot.

He is also exactly 560 days old.
I have kissed him approximately 11,200 times.
I have told him I love him approximately 8,417 times.
I have sung him approximately 3,352 lullabies.

I, on the other hand, am 11104 days old.

After his nap, we came to the office to work with my Mom. Before leaving the house he spotted his cowboy boots - size 7 (in case you wonder, he wears size 4) - which Mom and I bought at a yard sale. "boots, Momma... Momma? Momma? Momma? Boots! Boots! Boots! MOMMAAAAAAA, BOOTS!", he said until I finally let him wear them... over the top of his Robeez, mind you, because otherwise he would fall on his face every other step.

Fashion over comfort, I always say. Only, of course I never say that because I would live in my scrubs if I didn't have to leave the house.

Nevertheless, I allowed him to prance proudly into my Dad's office to show off his big boy cowboy boots. He beamed and danced his way up and down the hall... such a sight! I wish I had the camera handy to capture it.

So, keeping up with the whole being honest thing lately and since this is my blog and I can say what I want, I feel I'm allowed to say the following... I'm having trouble with Manny playing that awful game on the computer again. He had done much better for about a month (but I give partial credit to the power outage for that). He spends so many hours on there every week - he really does that more than any other single activity outside of work. I am not exaggerating when I say the two of us spend an average of 20 minutes together per day. And that's not because we don't have more time, it's because he prioritizes WOW above all else. I have tried all my vices as a wife: putting the foot down (but in order for that to work your husband has to care if your foot is down.), ultimatums, bargaining, guilt, threats, anger, praying, crying, and crying some more. But so far nothing has gotten through to him. What can I do? My next move will be destroying the computer all together. (I am not kidding.) Desperate times... so, if you don't hear from me again you'll know it's either because I threw the p.c. into the lake or he killed me because of it. Either way, I'm in a better place. ha ha.

And that's all I can say for today.

ok first, you count well...I don't think I could do the math to figure out my age!! ha ha :-)

second.

Take this for what it's worth...but I read a lady who kind of threw things in my face as far as being a wife goes...she said something about "so you want your husband back...seduce him...sure you have every right to be angry and mad, but what does that give you in the end? more anger, and more hurt. Sometimes we have to win back the ones we love."

Hey girl! I hear ya on the "gaming hubs" for I have one too! He also loves WoW, and has recently purchased an X box 360! So we have the PC (for family use) the PS2 (also serves as a DVD player) and the new baby, ahem, X box!

Grace has a point though, with "seducing" him! Maybe TMI but, I have recently put this into use! Seducing isn't just for the Bedroom though! Try gaming too! I did and it is fun, (shhhsh, don't tell!) I don't game for any time at all really, but the thought of me being interested in something he is into blew him away! It has worked pretty well. He still games, just about 30% less!

Prayer most certainly does work too! I have been reading a great book on this subject lately, "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie O'Martian. I suggest it highly! Not only does it give you great advice for praying for the hubs, but it gets to YOUR heart too! Actually it hits on YOUR heart harder, because well we all have to look inward and upward before we can try to fix things around us! Praying for you dear!

Oh and that Elijah, how cute is he!? You are one blessed mama!
