ah, time off...

PICT0121 this is Elijah in his Jumparoo.

WARNING: there is naked baby in the following video clip.

I love days off work! And I love being home with my boy... and pretending for a few days that I'm a regular mom who stays home while dad goes out to earn the money. Seeing my husband off to work in the morning with a kiss and a wave, while holding the baby on my hip, and cleaning up the kitchen from the blueberry waffles and bacon we had for breakfast. Yes, we did have that for breakfast. Today is Manny's 30th birthday. So it called for an extravagant birthday breakfast. I hung up the pirate Happy Birthday banner in the kitchen to make it extra special. I don't have money to buy him a gift so Elijah and I are going to make something later. I'm thinking something in the way of a baby footprint wall hanging perhaps. I don't know how crafty I'll feel.

About my weekend... Friday Elijah and I went to JC Penny's and had his 6 month pictures taken. They turned out ridiculously cute! I spent too much money, but I couldn't decide which ones I loved more... the naked ones with him in a stock pot with a chef's hat on, or the ones with him wrapped up in his pretty quilt and a HUGE 2-toothed grin on his face, or the ones in his little outfit sitting up like big boy. So I got them all. :)

After that we did some shopping and went to visit our friends Jared, Tina, and baby Titus (4 weeks old). He's such a sweet little guy. Jared took some pictures of them together with Elijah's arm around Titus. He said they're "besties". So funny!

Saturday we cleaned the house and had a man come over to take pictures of it for the realtor's internet listing. My house is clean and I love that feeling. When the house is clean my mind feels so much less cluttered too. I just have some dishes to finish and the bed sheets to change. I'm putting them out on the line to dry. I love that fresh line dried scent.

Yesterday we visited a new church in Greenwood, South Side Bible Church. I really liked the teaching and everyone was really nice and welcoming. I wonder if we'll start going there. I think we might at least go back again.

We also went to Babies-R-us and got Elijah a little seat that hooks onto the kitchen table. He was needing something to sit in while I feed him as his bouncy seat just didn't work well any more. For one thing, it's hard to get the cereal into his mouth when he's bouncing and kicking. Plus he was too reclined in it. So far he likes this new one and sits in it just fine. Just like a big kid.

For now he is napping and I think I'll do a scrapbook page or 2. Another one of my favorite things to do. I'm pretty easy to entertain. :)

... wait... he's crying now... so much for that.

Happy Birthday Manny!:)

Yay for days at home enjoying being a mom:)

I'm praying for your house issue. I know what you mean, I feel so much better with a clean house. Now if I could just get motivated to clean mine!
