So far things are going just perfectly with little mister Ezekiel. (I think we may end up calling him Zeke - not sure yet.)
Our first day has been pretty easy. Last night he gave me 2 solid blocks of time to sleep for a good 3-4 hours. He's a good eater when he's ready. Nursing is going great.
This morning Elijah, my parents, grandparents, brother, and sister came to visit for a few hours. Boy, had I missed Elijah! I could not wait for him to meet his brother. When he first came in the room he wanted to meet him too, but soon became distracted by all the medical equipment and strange surroundings. Plus he's really sensitive to when things are off-kilter, so he was on some kind of strange uncharacteristic adrenaline induced hyperactivity. He literally spun around for a good half hour. And my normally cuddly affectionate boy could not even stop wiggling long enough to spare me a hug. Mom said he was hyped-up from the second he woke up this morning. He also woke up in the middle of the night crying for me. I feel really sad leaving him with them. Anyway, I do think he will warm up to Ezekiel, but it's kind of discouraging that he was so uninterested today. Of course he needs time to get used to all these changes.
Anyway, this afternoon Ezekiel was circumsized - all went well. And this evening he had the hearing test - which he passed. Otherwise we just spent the day resting and relaxing in between feedings and diaper changes. Actually I'm bored. I'm looking forward to going home tomorrow and getting settled in as a family.
As for now, I bring you some more photos of my new baby's first 24 hours.
