THIS really was not on my list of things to do.

We started the year off with a bang! literally.
Manny and I came down with the wicked nastiest flu right about 2:00 a.m. on New Year's Day. He started throwing up a few hours before me (but that's only because in my months of pregnancy nausea I learned to "hold my cookies") and it lasted a full disgusting 24 hours. This was on top of the fun-filled night we had Monday with Elijah throwing up all over both of us multiple times. I guess this bug takes a while to kick. I'm mostly feeling like myself again today, except really weak and still nauseated - probably because I ate a grand total of 1/2 a cracker, 1 bite of banana, and 1 bite of toast yesterday. Thank the Lord for Gatorade.

Elijah stayed with my parents all yesterday and came back home this morning, which was a tremendous blessing to be sure! But I think the worst part of it all was being away from him for so long. I've never spent more than a few hours away from him his whole life. I actually cried last night because my mom told me I could not come over and see him.

He's been pretty puny since the other night and hasn't eaten much for days. Luckily he likes to drink water so I think he's hydrated. But he already looks skinny to me. Poor guy.
So, I finally got him to eat some home made chicken noodle soup (which he devoured) and a few bites of apple sauce. I was feeling pretty good about that until about 20 minutes ago when he had the most unbelievable poo blow out I've ever seen! He and Manny both had to take baths after that one. Needless to say, there is yet another load of laundry in the washer at this moment. And I'm about to attempt to make Elijah eat again. Wish me luck.
[sigh] I'm fairly sure this was not on my list of things to do this year.

Oh honey! I am so sorry!!! The stomach flu was one of my biggest fears about being a Mom. It is wicked gross!! We all got it too. Glad you're feeling a little better. Hope you're all 100% SOON!!!!

You poor dears! This happened to us the same time last year! I am praying it stays a way this year, especially considering our daughter is only 6 months, something like this for her can mean the hospital! Yikes! I am praying for you and the family to feel better soon!

Oh that's just crappy...I guess literally, huh? I'm so sorry you all are having to deal with the flu bug. I'd offer to come over and help out if need be, but, uh well, I don't want it and my immune system sucks right now. But it's the thoughts that counts, right? I WILL make sure to keep your family in my prayers, though. Get better soon so we can hang out!
