Also, my poor little sweetie is having a terrible time cutting those "eye" teeth on top. His tummy hurts, he has runny nose and cough (not a cold though), a slight fever, and restlessness, along with my personal favorite - diarrhea. He didn't sleep more than 45 minutes at a time last night because of the drainage. Consequently he felt like crap today. But, bless his heart, he's a trooper. He's been trying so hard to be happy. In lieu of this runny nose he has, I've been teaching him to blow it. Which he can sort of do. He kind of wrinkles up his nose, and blows then sniffs really quickly. So usually nothing comes out, but he is getting the idea. It's pretty adorable if you ask me.
Now about how smart he is... (because you know he's going to be a genius, right?) Although most of what comes out of his mouth is gibberish, he is making more and more sense lately. He's picking up on words and sounds like crazy. He can mimic almost anything now, which is both exciting and pretty frightening. And there are a few simple sentences which we frequently hear. For example:
What's that?
I see...
Hi Momma.
Uh-oh babba. (Annie)
Hot pa-pa.
Have that.
He can point out my eyes, nose, mouth, and shoes when asked. And speaking of shoes-- he absolutely loves to wear his (regardless of weather they fit) and DOES NOT like to take them off before he's ready.
Yesterday he ate almost an entire green tomato before I realized what was happening.
I could go on and on about how amazing and smart and funny Elijah is, but it's getting late and my husband is beckoning.
Let me mention just one last thing. He is LOVES to wear hats - any kind, but mostly sock hats, or beanies as Manny calls them. His favorite is the knitted one Manny wears to work. He cuddles with it and sleeps with it if I let him. :) Gotta love that. His second favorite one is this one... from In-N-Out. His grandma from California brought it last time they visited. This one is for her-- paying homage to our Favorite place to eat. YummmO!!

AH! I love the hat! Let me speak for mothers everywhere jealous of your hat wearing boy! I can never get my girls to keep a hat on...unless I tie is on, and then work really really really hard at bringing there attention elsewhere. ha.
Too too cute. And of course he's a genius! I mean, who would dare think otherwise?:-)
