Really, today has been a pretty great day. And here's why...
Elijah slept in until 8:00, giving me plenty of time to shower and get dressed before getting him up, dressed and fed. We had a leisurely breakfast of berries n' cream oatmeal and coffee (coffee only for me of course). By the way, he is so funny when he sees a coffee mug now. I have taught him that coffee is 'hot' and he is not to touch it. So when he sees me with some he says "hot hot hot hot hot..." hundreds of times. Just to drive the point home he usually reaches in the direction of the cup, then pulls his hand back abruptly as if he has touched the offending hot item. Such a smart little guy. ;-)
After breakfast we enjoyed playing downstairs until it was time to head out the door for the office. I put him down for a nap there and went to Wal-mart while he was sleeping. (It's the only way to shop, really.)
Then I met up with a friend for lunch. We ate greasy food at a local dive out on a picnic table and soaked up the lovely fall weather. It's just the right mixture of sunshine, blue skies, chilliness, and breeze to make you appreciate this time of year. And she gave me some fantastic news! With all the downers going on these days, I really needed something positive to be happy about. It was a long overdue visit and hopefully we'll get to do it again soon. I miss hanging out with her.
When Elijah and I came home he "helped" me hang laundry on the line. And by help, I mean he dumped the clothespins on the ground and pulled the wet laundry out of the basket. But what do you expect from a one-year-old? ;-) ha ha. then we played up on the hill on his new play gym. He's really getting the hang of going down the slide.
At the moment I'm taking in these fleeting moments of quiet while he watches Elmo in his Jump-a-roo. (This is my afternoon break time) I'm off to start on supper. It's lasagna and french bread tonight. ummm.

Hello there!! :) I meant to tell you this awhile ago.. I found this website called scrapblog.com - It's way too much fun, and an easy place to waste time! haha I just saved what I made to photobucket, and then copied the link into my blogspot where you can put a header (I think that's what I did anyway!).
I hope you guys get over your colds soon- that's no fun! And I took a look at your recipes.. they looked delicious. There's a few I will try here soon, and let you know what I think. Have a good day!
It looks great!!! Isn't that a fun yet addicting site? haha. Good job though, love it!
Did you use one of the templates, or did you do it all yourself?
