Well, today is the big day. The day we've been waiting and praying for all this time. It's so surreal. I'm in a bit of a fog. I left for work this morning and knew it was the last time I would see my house... our first home... my baby's first home. :(
It's my last day at my job and it's a little bitter-sweet. I cried in the shower. I cried on the way to work. I'm trying to avoid my friend Sarah because I know I'll cry when I say goodbye to her. In fact, I'm trying not to cry now... geesh!
As I write this my family (Manny, Mom, Dad, and cousin-in-law Jason) are at my house loading up the u.haul and other vehicles. I thought I had things under a semblance of order, but turns out I wasn't even close to being prepared for this. My house is chaos right now. I suppose this was to be expected. I'm super thankful for my parents' help. They are amazing movers, my dad especially. He can load a u.haul like nothing I've ever seen before! :) So, the plan today is that I'll have lunch with my unit at 11:00, then I'll be free to say my goodbyes and go. My "entourage" will meet me at the office at 12:30 and we'll hit the road. So, next time I update will probably be in a few days once we get settled.
Evansville... here we come!
