fun and games

My little boy is 16 weeks old now.
He's SO close to rolling over. He'll turn his head all the way to the side, get half way over, and kick the opposite leg like crazy to get up momentum, then he rocks back and forth. He's almost there. I'm just really hoping he doesn't master the skill while I'm at work during the day. I want to see it when he finally does it. I thought he would do it last night, so I got out the video camera and all he ended up doing was laying there kicking and laughing at me. Oh well. I love it when he laughs anyway.

His other new fun game is playing with the newspaper ads. At night when I'm working on dinner or dishes I put him on the table under the kitchen chandelier in his bouncy seat with the colorful ads (like from Target and KMart) over his face and body. He LOVES it. I think the light shines through and makes the colors look pretty to him. He'll kick and punch at the paper until he gets it off, then squeal for me to put it back on... then does the whole thing over and over again. I think he also likes the taste of it because after several rounds of the game last night, the paper was soaked with slobber and ripped to shreds. yummy.

He's almost too big for the swing now. I noticed last night that his feet hang over the end and it doesn't swing as well because he's getting so heavy. It might be time to retire it. I wonder how Manny will get him down for his naps during the day since he has always relied on the swing. I suppose Elijah will have to learn to go down on his own now.

I wish he had a bumbo. But they're too expensive to buy one just for him to use it for 3 months. Oh well.
