in a word...

A few days ago the following conversation took place between Elijah and me as I was placing him in his car seat, snapping the latches together, about to head to my parents' house to drop him off for the day.

Me: Elijah we're going to Grandma and Grandpa's house today. Are you ready to play?
Elijah: uh ahh, ba ba ba ba, da da da, uh uh...
Me: Grandpa will be there! You can see him before he goes to work... won't that be fun?
Elijah: papa! papa! papa! papa!...
[I start the car and drive, while watching him in the rear view mirror...]
Elijah: papa! papa! papa! papa! papa!
[This goes on for the entire 5 minute drive to their house.]

We pull into the driveway and I hear a squeal from the backseat: "Papa!"

So, I think he has that word down. :-)

Also...
Today in the nursery at church (I am told) my freakishly strong baby pulled a shelf over on top of his head, causing a pretty nice sized scrape and possibly a good knot. We'll see tomorrow how bad it will be. I tried to photograph the damage...

Can you see the scrape, there on the left side of his forehead? (click on the picture to see it larger)
