This morning I had Elijah on my hip while filling up the dog's bowl at the sink. When I turned the faucet on he looked at it and said "wa wa". Sure enough. I didn't even prompt him. I don't recall teaching him that word.
Then tonight during his bath he stopped playing, got real quite and said a very distinct and enunciated "ba.." then proceeded to try to say the "th" sound over and over. Which went something like this, "ba -- sss -- sss -- sss -- ch ch ch". But he's close. I'm so proud.
The other day we were playing on the back deck and I took my eyes off him long enough for him to find a fragment of a dirty old cotton rope. He was happily sucking on it when I made a move for him to remove it from him mouth. But before I could get there, he took it out of him mouth, smiled up at me expectantly and said, "umm, good."
Ugh - boys!
