about that Date Night...

So as I was saying... Manny and I FINALLY had that date to celebrate our 9th anniversary.

Here's how the day went... first of all it was so beautiful outside on Saturday!! The kind of day you can't stand to spend indoors.

Early in the morning my Mom called me and asked if she and Dad could take Elijah to breakfast and to Rural King to pick out a new animal. Mom was so excited to take him out. She said "I've been waiting my whole life to take my grandson to Rural King on a Saturday morning!". So funny! They went to Denny's and he came home with a crocodile. I think my parents had more fun than E.

We went with my family (parents and siblings) to Penney's to have Elijah's one year and some family pictures taken around noon. Here are a few of my favorites...

Afterward Mom and Dad took baby boy home w/them so Manny and I could spend some time together. We shopped (I got bunches of new shirts). Then we got milkshakes at Culver's and sat outside enjoying the lovely day and talking (grown up conversation) for the first time in ages! It was so nice to have some alone time with him which didn't involve one of us running out the door or getting ready for bed. After that we went to see a stupid movie - I think it was called Tropic Thunder. It was funny in parts, but the language was pretty bad. To top off our fun day we had dinner at Bonefish Grill. (I had the salmon w/steamed veggies and pan Asian sauce -- SO GOOD! Manny had a gigantic pork chop with jasmine rice and Marsala sauce -- also delish!)

It was a good day.

As an editorial comment... aside from the wheel, cotton gin, electric light bulb, telephone, indoor plumbing, and gas powered engine... I'm confident that the best invention in the world, EVER is nutella! Oh my goodness, so yummy! :) I highly recommend eating some right away.

I eat nutella by the spoonful. Literally. Strait from the container. Yum.

Elijah looks so cute in his pictures! I can't believe our boys are so big already!

And- I'm glad you guys got to spend a day together, just enjoying eachothers company. Jordan and I are having a date night tonight- and I can't wait. We're going to the Cheesecake Factory, and then to Half-Price Books. :) I can't wait.
