I have butterflies...

... in my tummy. I cannot believe things are happening so quickly. It looks as though we might really be moving. I'm still in a state of shock. Only the Lord knows and I'm really praying for His guidance so whatever He wants will happen. But it sure would be nice for this to be IT.

Counting today (if things go as planned), I have 10 days left at my job. And 18 days until we load up the truck and go!

I took Elijah for his 9 month pictures this weekend. I'm not thrilled with how they turned out so I'm going to try to take some on my own.

My big boy learned how to drink out of a sippy cup on Saturday. It took some coaching because he just wanted to chew on the spout. But once I showed him that something comes out of it, he LOVED drinking water like a big kid. :)

He also mastered the art of getting his cherry puffs from the table to his mouth. Until now he has only been able to pick them up and drop them on the floor or into his seat. He is learning quickly that this new skill of putting food into his mouth is very rewarding. :)

We tried meat for the first time last night. Chicken and noodles w/veggies. He wasn't interested but I think that's because he ate a big breakfast and lunch and he just wasn't hungry. I'll try again tonight and see how that goes.

I'm pretty sure he's going to try to crawl soon. Yeah, I know he's behind. And no, I am not worried about his development. We were having tummy time this weekend and he wanted a toy just barely out of his reach. So he pushed his butt up in the air and kind of scooted himself forward a bit with his knees. This seems to be the beginnings learning to crawl. I'm trying to work with him on it, but he won't stay on his tummy long enough to push up on his knees.

Ok, one more Elijah story for today... Lately he's been making this funny noise by blowing air out between his teeth. So the other day Manny said, "He's making that space ship sound again". And I said, "That doesn't sound at all like a space ship, silly." Then Manny said, "Well, he's still little. He's not very good at space ship noises yet." This made me laugh so much imagining that maybe Elijah really is trying to sound like a space ship. And it makes me sad to think that not so very long from now he will be doing things like that and playing like a big boy. [sniff sniff]

I did not get my kitchen packed up this weekend like I wanted to. Taking care of a baby turns out to be a full time job with very little free time. Oh well, it will be done by the time we need it to anyway. I did finally get my tomatoes in pots though. They are thrilled.

I am totally on pins and needles today waiting to hear back from the realtor about closing!
