Today is Elijah's 9 month birthday.
Manny just took him to the Dr. and here are his stats...
20.5 lbs and 29 inches tall
That's 75th percentile.
Dr. says he's doing just fine and is healthy. I'm happy to get the affirmation from a professional rather than just hoping we're doing the right stuff for him. Thank goodness, no shots this time.
So here's my one beef with what the Dr. said. He told Manny we can't make our own baby food carrots or spinach. Apparently there are certain nitrates in the soil, which both of those veggies absorb in too high of quantities. Babies aren't supposed to have too much nitrogen, so only veggies grown in specially screened soil can be eaten by kids under 1 year. Hum.... I don't know about that. I'm sure Manny will just take the doc at his word, but I'm always slightly more sceptical. Sure, he's the Dr. and I know he is just telling us what he's taught, but I don't know if he always knows what's best for my baby. I'm going to do more research before I decide what's best for him. To be honest, I feel slightly annoyed by this for some reason. Here I've been putting quite an effort into making Elijah's food, which according to my findings is the more healthy way to go. But now I'm hearing it might have been harmful. Ugh!
