My first doctor visit was on January 4th. We were 10 weeks along. It was uneventful, but fine. I was weighed, asked questions about my health and family history, told what to expect over the coming months, and had bloodwork done.
The Dr. estimated the due date as July 30, 2007. But that's just a guess. They say it could be off by as much as 2 weeks in either direction.
I was so relieved that everything seemed fine. I had been feeling a little uneasy, like I wasn't sure there was really a baby in there or that something might go wrong. I had started having little twinges and small cramps in my lower abdomen at about 5 weeks, so that worried me. My mom told me that didn't sound good. But the Nurse practitioner, Georgia, assured me it was ok and normal.
But... here's a fun surprise... I HEARD THE HEARTBEAT! It was a funny fast little swish swish sound. But sure enough, there's a baby in there! :)
No ultrasound until my February visit.
