six and a half weeks

Little Elijah isn't so little any more. He's growing by leaps and bounds! He's already out of the newborn size diapers and is in size 1 now (has been for a week). His face is getting so chubby I can hardly recognize him. He's filling up almost the whole bassinet and his 0-3 month size jammies have barely any room left in them. IMG_2120
He's really holding his head up for long periods of time, is cooing and "talking" to us more and more, smiles at me almost every time I talk to him, and can hold on to his little puppy doll when I put it on his tummy.

And of course, he's becoming quite the expert at playing the foot piano. Sometimes I have to turn it off because it gets him so worked up he starts fussing. He loves blowing bubbles with his spit, but I'm not sure what that's all about. One of the sweetest things he does is smile at me when he's nursing. He'll look up at me out of the corner of his eye, smile, and let out this little sigh-like chuckle. It almost sounds like he's panting, but I know he's laughing - at least in his heart. I wonder what makes him so happy. He also smiles in his sleep, which is SO precious to me. I hope he's a happy boy when he gets bigger.

So, about the house... We've come to a compromise with the buyers. They accepted our counter offer and now we're waiting for the signed contract from them so we can sign it too. Our realtor called today and said the house has been shown twice more in the past few days since the deal wasn't finalized w/the other buyer. There might be other interest. We're still waiting to see what happens. Like I said before, I'm afraid to get my hopes up because I know how uncertain these things can be. We'll celebrate AFTER closing -- if there ever is one.

Manny's parents will be leaving to go back to California tomorrow. We have had a pretty nice week together.

Oh, one more thing, Libby is leaving for Evansville tomorrow, and for Costa Rica from there. We're really going to miss her and I know she's going to miss seeing Elijah grow up. I'm sad. :( Here's a picture of Elijah with "Aunt" Libby.
